It is one thing to be a sole trader or a small business owner, but it is completely different to be a small business owner who is an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is a person who acts and thinks in a way different from at least 90% of other businesses and companies in your market.
So here are 3 things that you must do and think about if you want to be a successful entrepreneur.
Every successful entrepreneur has the ability to look at the world as a system. They believe that their business is not just a group of people doing their job. It is a system that is being operated by people.
The work is done by the system and the people are the ones controlling the system.
Having a systematic thinking is the first step you must do. “Your business should be built on a system”.
If there is no system in place, your business will just depend on you and on a handful of people who work for you.
So, what happens is that your business goes out of control if you or your staff are gone even for a short while. But by having correct systems, the business will be run by the systems and almost anyone can operate it.
The second thing you must do is: Think in terms of return of investments (ROI).
This is opposed to thinking in terms of cost that is usually done by employees. People with an employee mindset will immediately say something such as “let me think about it” or “I can’t afford it” and they will start to think for reasons why it won’t work.
To think like an entrepreneur is to have a long term vision.
Successful entrepreneurs decide to do something and that’s it done!
The “how” will just follow and work out exactly how it’s supposed to be. They believe in their abilities that they can do something and make it happen.
Successful individuals and entrepreneurs live in the present…that means…right NOW! The third thing you must do is to live in the NOW. The past is already part of history and the only thing it has, is the relevance that we put on it.
Entrepreneurs don’t base all their decisions on the things that took place yesterday. Predicting the future is also a gamble because no one knows for sure if the sun will rise the following day.
Entrepreneurs fully understood that all they have is today and that is what sets them apart. So if you also want to be a successful entrepreneur you must stop living in the part and don’t let the mystery of tomorrow take over your decisions and action today.
