Qualities of an Entrepreneur – Growing Your Business Mindfully!

0

Why should you develop your entrepreneur qualities and why are they so important?

There’s a difference between being a business owner and being a smart entrepreneur. There are millions of business owners around the globe. There are much fewer entrepreneurs.

And there are even fewer mindful, smart entrepreneurs who focus on their own self development while simultaneously building their business.

Why?

Being an entrepreneur requires a certain mindset – this is a given. It’s a mindset that many are born with. You’ve met and likely heard of people who have always had one business idea or another and acted on their plans regularly.

From the time they were small children they were out making money and starting businesses.

You can go even farther than what you were born with. Be committed to developing your character and entrepreneur qualities, taking a smarter approach to your business efforts. Those who take the extra time and effort necessary to work on mastering their own emotions and thoughts are way ahead of the pack.

The smartest entrepreneurs who are aware of the way their mind works are able to see themselves more objectively. They have a lot of energy and pour it into their projects. In fact, they are extremely energized by each of their new ideas. And they also are the masters of their own minds!

As an online or offline business owner (or aspiring business owner) you can benefit from developing a smart entrepreneurial mindset. You can grow your business well beyond your original plan and have a lot of fun along the way. You can reap the rewards you visualize by actively working on those inner qualities of mind and heart which will lift you up to the top of your game.

First, let’s look at a list below of a few of the qualities smart entrepreneurs generally need to possess-see how many you resonate with:

  1. Positive – See the glass half full, with lots of room for growth
  2. Motivated – Know that their ideas can help others
  3. Innovative and creative – Constantly thinking outside the box
  4. Open minded – Willing to look at a variety of options
  5. Resourceful – Have great networking skills and are willing to develop new ones
  6. Visionaries – Frequently see things in terms of what is possible and not what isn’t working
  7. Delegators – If needed will farm out aspects of project to others at a fair price
  8. Problem solvers – Always looking for solutions and resist getting bogged down with unsolved challenges
  9. Risk takers – Hang their hats way out on the limb, sometimes without a safety net below
  10. Lifelong learners – Have a “beginners mindset”, staying open to learning new ways of seeing and being to further their ideas along
  11. Self-aware – Do what it takes to increase their ‘reality testing’-meditation, self-help audio and videos, reading (!), therapy, whatever it takes to not keep making the same mistakes and wasting precious time
  12. Balanced – Are not workaholics, understand life has many facets, enjoy play time, spend time with friends and family

These are the 12 key qualities smart entrepreneurs tend to all have in common. Taking a look at the list, it’s not hard to see why an entrepreneurial mindset is so powerful in business. Chances are you already own some of these key attributes. You may have many of them in varying degrees.

For example, some days you’re confident to take calculated risks. Other days, not so much. Your challenge is to cultivate as many of these attributes as you need to develop. This is not an overnight project! However, once you begin to embrace your entrepreneur mindset and see yourself as a “smart entrepreneur” you will have some of the needed inspiration to develop those challenging areas.

You may need to consult with a mindset coach or other professional to help develop a more realistic alignment between where you now are and where you will be in the future. I like what the Dalai Lama said about this subject…

The Dalai Lama said, “One has to try to develop one’s feelings, which you can do simply by training your mind. This is a priceless human asset and one you don’t have to pay income tax on!”

Now, that’s rare – something to not have to pay income tax on – most of the priceless things in this world are absolutely free. As for your progress as a developing entrepreneur, it’s true that some people were born with an entrepreneurial mindset. You many know them. Perhaps you’re one of them. They are innovative, action takers who aren’t afraid to make mistakes. They’re also often very skilled at getting people to buy into their vision.

To put it quite simply, an entrepreneurial mindset gives you the power to:

  • Recognize and capitalize on opportunities
  • Operate from a place of confidence and courage
  • Take calculated risks
  • Stay passionate and enthusiastic
  • Connect with, and lead, people who can help your business thrive and prosper
  • Tap into the courage and determination it takes to make it through challenges
  • Learn from, and capitalize on mistakes.
  • Make an impact on your audience and in your world

To sum it up – Your Business Is What It Is Because YOU Are Who You Are!
