This site is based on daily news in Sydney. On June 8, the North Sydney Bears played the Newtown Jets in the round 13 match. Joe Uluibau, Curtis Johnston, Kurt Aldridge, and Matt Highland each scored four points for a total of 16. Kurt Aldridge successfully made two out of three goal kicks. Ultimately, the round 13 match ended 16-38 in favour of the Newtown Jets.
Player of the year voting ended with three points going to number 13 Kane Evans, two to number 18 Daniel Mortimer, and one to number 9 Heath L’Estrange from the Newtown Jets.Round 14 between the North Sydney Bears and the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles will commence at Leichhardt Oval at 2 p.m. on June 15. On 15 July, discussions began anew for the initiative to bring the Vivid festivities to North Sydney in 2015.Since the initial meeting to bring this plan into action one month ago, further actions have been taken to begin making definitive decisions.
The Chamber of Commerce’s meeting with Destination New South Wales (DNSW) concluded that the €business community is very keen to get on board.€ There are, however, a few caveats. With less than a year until Vivid 2015 rolls around, a lot of big decisions must be made and a lot of big money must be raised. The first deadline to overcome is in mid-September. In approximately six weeks time, there must be a clear vision for North Sydney’s Vivid and the strategic objectives clearly defined.
Noise Walls have recently been completed for West St Cammeray and Merlin St Neutral Bay. Noise walls for Tarella Place and Sexton Place Cammeray were completed previously. In total 4 sections of noise walls have been completed. Noise walls have significantly reduced freeway traffic noise levels. An indicative timetable€¦has been advised by Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) for the construction of a further 3 sections of noise walls along the Freeway at Massey St, Jenkins/Armstrong Sts, Metcalfe/Edwin Streets.
As of April 2014, a four noise walls have been completed. However, there are a number of other sections surrounding the Freeway that require attention. Morden and Bellevue Streets, Jenkins and Armstrong Streets, Massey and Palmer Streets, Rosalind Street, Metcalf and Edwin Streets, Chandos St, Matthews Street, Jenkins Lane, and Matthews are all areas that walls are either likely to be constructed or contain regional roads and are therefore the responsibility of Council.
